My desire is to provide some encouragement to the residents faith through familiar Hymns and Spiritual songs. I have been asked by a number of Activity Directors if spiritual music is all I do. The answer to that is, "not unless that is specifically what you would like." I play a number of other types of songs (some country, older familiar love songs, etc...)
I think many people have a misconception of Hymns and think that they are dreary and depressing, etc... God forbid that they would be dreary and depressing! Many of the songs I do are upbeat and engaging and the Hymns that I choose are very beautiful arrangements and spiritually uplifting.
I have witnessed first hand the healing effect that music has in nursing home facilities. Singing familiar songs together does wonders for the morale of any facility. Especially when these songs also serve a spiritual need. Of course many of them are no longer able to attend church, so I bring a bit of church to them through many of the standard classic hymns that are common to all denominations of the Christian faith.
I like to think of myself as a "musicianary" to those at nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Northeast Wisconsin. I have been so blessed for the past couple of years to have this opportunity to share music, love, and encouragement with the elderly.

My name is Daniel Lovett and I am a musician from Appleton. I sing and play guitar specializing in Hymns and spiritual songs, often including some of the older love songs, Johnny Cash classics, and various other inspirational tunes. I now have quite a repertoire of some great
arrangements of hymns that the elderly really enjoy.
(One man commented how
tailored my program was for his generation). I can't express
how thrilled I am to share music and
love with the elderly for a living and I look forward to every opportunity.
Experience:
I have been providing entertainment, musical therapy, and sing-a-long concerts throughout Northeast Wisconsin since November of 2006 serving over forty of the nursing homes and assisted living facilities – often on a schedule of once a month or once every other month. I have also been playing guitar and singing in ministry
since 2000.
What to expect:

on the hymns album, which admitedly is very peaceful music but I also so some more upbeat numbers, such

and blessing to everyone that I serve. I will often share
a few words between songs and share the latest amusing anecdotes, or perhaps just a bit of background behind a particular song.
Details:
My program is about an hour long and I bring
my own sound system. My fee is $50 to cover expenses and
time, but I certianly don't want money to stand in the way. I believe
so strongly in what I'm doing that I would rather play more
for less, than play less for more. I will come for whatever
you think is reasonable and will definitely work with
your budget.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Daniel about two years ago and I have had the pleasure of enjoying Daniel's music as well as our residents at all of our locations.
Our residents truly enjoy Daniels visits as well as his music. Daniel has a magic touch with all of our residents while he is visiting us and singing.
